For today’s newsletter, I have partnered with TOM, an Australian brand that exists to create a positive impact across personal care and one of whom I have used for many years now. All fashion items are my own and have not been gifted but I may earn a small commission from affiliate links.
I read a great tip from stylist,
, on getting dressed and that was the one base method. The idea is to choose whichever base outfit you enjoy wearing – I have chosen white trousers, and tank (brazen, I know!) as I love the freshness that a crisp white can bring to a winter fit. This can be easily interchanged with an all black ensemble (which you all know I’m a sucker for), or jeans and a neutral, basic top. Especially on those chaotic mornings where a no-brainer outfit is required, a last minute invitation pops up or if like me, you’re pregnant and getting dressed is becoming increasingly more challenging. The point is the base should be uncomplicated and used as the foundation for layering and adding accessories that show more of your personality and personal style. To me, a good base requires good scaffolding i.e. the things we can not see but are just as, if not more important to the finished product. Now that I’m almost 30 weeks into my second pregnancy, this means I always start with seamless underwear and a liner from the TOM light bladder protection range. Knowing I have that extra layer there just-in-case there’s no bathroom in sight or if I’m running from drop-off, to work, meetings and dinners, I can stay fresh without feeling as though I need an entire outfit change (which is getting increasingly more difficult with this XL bump of mine). I simply refresh TOM, swap out some of my outer layers and I’m ready to go.
