What is Dear Dilate?

It’s a good place on the internet for mothers who love their children dearly but find parts of motherhood to be, well, hard and want to talk about it. You won’t find tips on how to feed or a cureall for sleep deprivation, but what you will find are relatable essays and in-depth interviews that explore what it means to be a mother in our modern world – all this with a side of stylish recs and a peek into the routines of mothers who look put-together even if they don’t feel as though they have it all together.

And who are you?

I’m Jade Fox, a writer and copywriter who has written for Vogue and Body & Soul, as well as a few other Australian titles. Much of my professional life has been spent in editorial, marketing and branding, but what I’m really into is learning about people and, even more specifically, having open conversations with motherhood about how they work, dress, live, mother and keep it somewhat together in a world that demands so much. I'm also a working mother-of-one, living in Sydney, who is trying to make space for my own identity and passions outside of motherhood – and so Dear Dilate was born. First, an Instagram, swapping stories and connecting with others throughout the pandemic, an event that changed the way we live and parent, has since grown into a community of thousands of mothers across the globe.

When will I receive a newsletter?

Free subscribers will receive one newsletter a fortnight, which might be an  in-depth essay, an interview with a special guest that uncovers their style and beauty routines, a look into how a mother we admire juggles it all, or a list of personal shopping recs from me.

For $5 a month (or $50 a year), paid subscribers will receive a weekly email that includes an in-depth feature once a month (containing the kind of profiles and features that take extra time and effort to create).

Paid subscribers to Dear Dilate also receive exclusive discount codes from DD-approved brands, first dibs on any future merch drops, early access to tickets for IRL meet-ups (yes, they're in the works), plus the option to have a one-on-one call or coffee (if you’re in Sydney) with me to chat about anything from motherhood to career growth or creative or branding ventures that you might want a sounding board for.

This schedule may change as DD evolves, but for now, I think this works.

In all honesty, there will be recs that have been gifted to me or that are friends of mine but believe me when I say; I'll only ever recommend things to you DD reader, that I truly believe are life-changingly good.
